He begins to act when he was very young. In 1969 he made his debut in the movie Il ragazzo dagli occhi chiari of Emilio Marsini. After an year he acted in the movie Il giardino dei finti contini of Vittorio de Sica. In 1991 he made his debut to the cinema with the movie Americano Rosso, with rich he won the David di Donatello e il Ciak d’oro.
In 1993 he directed Kim Ross Stuart in the movie Senza Pelle, movie that he presents to Cannes in the Quinzaine des realisateurs section.
In 1998 he still works with Kim Ross Stuart in the movie I giardini dell’eden, in contest to Mostra del cinema di Venezia. In 2000 he wins the Leone d’argento to the Cannes festival of the publicity for the spot on the Priority mail. In 2002 he directs Fabio Volo in Casomai. In 2006 he directs Commedia sexi with Sergio Rubini, Paolo Bonolis, Margherita Buy, Stefania Rocca, elena Santarelli, Rocco Papaleo and Michael Placido In 2008 he wins the Prize “Città di Trieste”- Alabarda d’oro- a lifetime achievement award.
He is teacher of the Filmmaker course to the ACT MULTIMEDIA, the cinema school to Cinecittà In April 2010 Sul mare came out, film of which he is scriptwriter and director, winner of the special prize 2010 to the festival Alabarda d’oro. In the theatrical season 2013he is the director of the show “Quando la moglie è in vacanza” of George Axelrod with Massimo Ghini and elena Santarelli with the music of Renato Zero.
